Crossing the main ridge of Bucegi Mountains! An unforgettable ski touring day! About 30 km with over 1200mD + is reasonable if you run but if you are on skis it becomes quite difficult! Moreover if the wind blows hard and it snows a lot and the temperature is well below - 15 ° C the mission becomes even more complicated! The route started from Cabana Dichiu and continued a section on Transbucegi until the entrance to Vânturiș Canyon - Izvorul Dorului Valley. After leaving the canyon we continued on the red stripe route until the entrance to the second canyon that took us to Piatra Arsă. From that point we continued the route on the plateau to Cabana Babele. After a short break for food and hydration, we entered on yellow stripe route that leads to Omu Peak. We go on this route for an hour and a half to near Colții Obârșiei Peak after which we decided to return because the visibility was very low and this is not a good sign when you are on the Bucegi plateau! Theoretically we still have somewhere less than 1km to Omu Peak but safety comes first!
